Are you a Meetup organizer? Come join us for an event dedicated to you!
On September 29, 2023, Meetup organizers from Italy will gather at the Roma WordPress Meetup’s venue for a one-day event dedicated to training.
There will be discussions about the future of Meetup groups and sponsorship, DEIB workshops, and in-person orientation for new organizers!
What is WordPress Community Day
It is a day entirely focused on the activities carried out by the Community Contribution Team, during which we intend to
- provide support and practical tools to people who organise local Meetups and/or WordCamps (or would like to start doing so);
- learn how to facilitate those who would like to propose talks, panels and workshops, but do not know how to do it or what topic to cover, or simply do not feel comfortable enough;
- discuss what can be improved about the existing documentation in Italian to support organisers;
- give guidance to those who want to launch a new Meetup in their city;
- questioning and making proposals to improve the WordCamp and Contributor Day format in terms of effectiveness and involvement;
- how to promote formats of events not practised in Italy such as hackathons and do_action.
We will share experiences and try to understand which tools and good practices can help us in the activities of the Community and in the involvement of new people.
Who can participate
All persons who contribute or wish to contribute to the Team Community.
This is not a day exclusively for nerds: no coding experience required! This event is suitable for:
- Those who want to organise or help in the organisation of Meetups in their cities, or reactivate their city’s Meetup;
- Who is motivated to learn community management techniques to reproduce in their own Meetup and/or WordCamp;
- Who are interested in the activities of the WordPress Community and want to help improve it.
