Call for organizers:
If you want to lead or join an organizing team, review the guidelines and fill out the application. Organizing a WordCamp is a lot of work, but it’s really rewarding.
Can we get a Wordcamp in Dallas, Austin or San Antonio?!
Melissa, all WordCamps are organized by volunteers in the WordPress community. WordCamp Central does not actually organize WordCamps, but rather works with volunteer organizers to make sure their event is successful.
If you’d like to attend a WordCamp in Texas (and you live in Texas), my suggestion would be for you to join your local meetup group – there are WordPress meetup groups in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston – and work with the community in your town to get one organized. Once there is enough interest in the local community to hold a WordCamp, then an organizer team fills out the organizer’s application and WordCamp Central starts working with them on their planning.
Hi is there any chance of a wordcamp conference in South Africa – Cape Town/Overberg area?
There was a WordCamp in Capetown this summer: http://2011.capetown.wordcamp.org/ :) The organizers are already talking about 2012, so I’d imagine there’s a good chance you’ll see another one.
That sucks..there is no wordcamp anywhere near Nova Scotia besides Toronto which is not useful to me. Is there another event in more areas than this coming up?
