The WordCamp Europe organising team is extending the deadline for applications to host the event in 2018. Teams who have organised a WordCamp in Europe in the past year are invited to apply by March 15th, 2017.

We also released the final batch of 1000 regular tickets and 300 microsponsor tickets, and we like to remind you that there won’t be any more tickets after this release, except those reserved that won’t get collected.

Call for WCEU 2018 host city is open until March 15th

Leiden, Sofia, Sevilla, Vienna, and Paris – which city will host the sixth WordCamp Europe is still unknown. If you and your team organised a WordCamp in Europe in the past year, you should consider hosting WordCamp Europe in your city in 2018.

We know the first thing that goes through your mind is “but WordCamp Europe is getting bigger every year – are we up to it?”. A short answer is – yes. You can do it as we’re here to coach and help you prepare your applications, so if you’re interested in talking about it, please get in touch today. Call for the host city is open until March 15th, 2017.

Get your ticket and book your hotel today

With 2300+ tickets already sold (or reserved), WordCamp Europe 2017 in Paris will be bigger than the one in Vienna. With all the tickets gone, we expect around 3300 people at the amazing Les Docks de Paris, in June. In the meantime, there’s quite a lot of new information for attendees on our website.

There is a detailed list of hotels that we selected based on various preferences. If you’re in a mood for Amelie, Moulin Rouge or “The Grand Paris” – you will be more than happy with our selection. For each hotel, we also published an instruction on how to get to the venue.

FAQ page, VISA invitation letters and invoices

Have any question? There’s now a detailed FAQ page, and in case you can’t find your answer there – you should get in touch via Twitter, Facebook or contact form. For those of you who need VISA invitation letter, there’s a separate form to get in touch, as there is one for those needing an Invoice. For both, please give us at least five working days to respond.

Call for sponsors, media partners and photographers

If you want to help WordCamp Europe by sponsoring, there’s still a chance as there are still some spots left, although some slots are already sold out (editor and author slots).

This year we expanded Call for media partners to give more value to those writing about WordCamp Europe. From dedicated PR team member that you can contact to first-hand news and special promotion of your media outlet on our website. Call for media partners is open until the end of February.

Also, for the first time this year, we opened a special Call for photographers. Past years photographers came from our volunteers team, but this year we’re building a dedicated photography and video team. If you think you have what it takes, apply today. Call for photographers is open until March 31st.

Information for speakers and volunteers

And last but not least – if you applied to volunteer, you should get back from our volunteers team by the end of February. We received 292 volunteer applications (from 53 countries) this year, and we will need some time to go through them. So, be patient, sit back and relax while our team sends you an email.

As with volunteers, we received an enormous amount of speaker submissions, 310 of them to be exact. It will take the entire month of February to go through them, and we will start contacting selected speakers in March. For all of you who asked when will we publish the schedule – not before the end of March/beginning of April.
