WordCamp Detroit: Speakers, Sponsors and Volunteers, Oh My!

Announcing WordCamp Detroit

We’re off to see the WordCamp, the wonderful WordCamp of Detroit!

WordCamp Detroit is happening April 28th, 2018 in Downtown Detroit! It will take place at Grand Circus Detroit, in the heart of downtown Detroit. The event brings together 150 WordPress users together from the Metro Detroit and Michigan area to connect, swap stories, learn and have a good time.

I’ll get you my speakers and your little talks too!

We’re seeking sessions on a variety of WordPress-related topics, and we are especially interested in hearing from people who are new to speaking at WordCamp. We’re expecting between 100-150 attendees with a wide range of experience and interests.

Friday, March 2nd – Contributor and Workshop day

We will gather to attend great workshops with some of the brightest in their respective fields, but also contribute to WordPress. Workshop topics will be announced shortly.

Saturday, March 3rd – Conference day

Conference day will have two tracks with speakers. One track for developers, and one track with a broader set of topics. In the evening we will have an awesome afterparty with shuffleboard to mingle and have fun together. Speakers and topics will be announced shortly.

Sunday, March 4th – fun day

For those who still have the energy, we will gather for a fun activity together. What activity will be a surprise!

Tickets On Sale For WordCamp Miami 2018

WordCamp is celebrating a big milestone! Our 10th consecutive WordCamp! And we want you to be there with us.

WordCamp Miami 2018 is happening March 16-18, 2018 at Florida International University. WordCamp Miami is one of the larger camps in North America with last year’s attendees from a diverse range of ages (8 to 80), backgrounds, and experiences.

Our early bird tickets sold out, but our next round of tickets is open now! We have tickets for the weekend and our Friday workshops, with tickets for kids workshops (for both Saturday and Sunday) coming soon.

Miami is known for it’s warm sunshine and beaches but also for it’s diverse population… and we will have over 60 speakers from diverse backgrounds from South Florida and all over the world. Check out our 2016 and 2017 videos to get a taste of what WCMIA is all about. Here are some teasers:

– Friday (March 16th) workshops covering beginner topics, ecommerce, and “the future of WordPress” and Gutenberg for developers.
– Our 3rd year of “Learn JavaScript Deeply” track for those wanting to learn more about JavaScript.
