WordCamp Miami 2016: Looking For Speakers!

The 8th WordCamp Miami is happening February 19-21, 2016 at Florida International University. That means we are currently looking for speakers who want to get on stage and share their knowledge with over 750 attendees. Our deadline to submit proposals is Midnight EST on Monday November 21st, 2015. Apply at https://2016.miami.wordcamp.org/speaker-submissions/

Miami is also the home of BuddyCamp – we have recently announced BuddyCamp Miami 2016 and if you want to talk BuddyPress, bbPress, or social/mobile design… we welcome your applications as well.

Miami is known for it’s warm sunshine and beaches (especially in February!) but also for it’s diverse population… therefore we are looking for a great and diverse speaker submission pool to reflect our local community. Both new and experienced WordCamp speakers are welcome to apply. If you’d like to propose multiple topics, please submit the form multiple times, once for each topic.

Recent feedback and polls have allowed us to share some possible topics that might help you guide your consideration. Here are some suggestions for topics:

– Content Creation (Writing, Strategy)
– Journalism / Podcasting Topics
– Security
– Building Themes
– Freelancing / Business Topics (Dealing w/ Clients, Best Practices, Hiring Developers, etc.)
– Web Design / Theme Design / UI / UX
– Learning About PHP Not Directly Related To WordPress
– Advanced WordPress Development Topics (Coding Themes, Plugins)
– Case Studies (“What We Did Wrong”)
– E-Commerce Topics (Building E-Commerce w/ WordPress)

Full speaker line up and schedule for WordCamp Sofia is up

WordCamp Sofia 2015 will be on October 24-25 and will take place in the Arena Mladost movie theater in Sofia.

The schedule for the conference day on October 24th just went up featuring a great line up of WordPress professionals – WordPress core contributors, designers, marketing experts, writers and consultants.

WordCamp Sofia Contributor day on October 25th has already been announced and will include a parallel track of workshops for new contributors. More details coming soon.

There are only 50 tickets left for the event, so get your ticket for WordCamp Sofia 2015 before they run out!

WordCamp NYC Schedule is Up!

WordCamp NYC 2015 has its Saturday Schedule and Sunday Schedule posted!  We have an amazing line up that you won’t want to miss.

WordCamp NYC is from October 30th until November 1st.  October 30th is Contributor Day (More details coming soon) and Sessions are on October 31st and November 1st.  Tickets are $40.

WordCamp US ticket sales are open!

WordCamp US 2015, held December 4-6 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has opened a first round of ticket sales. This three day event features 2 days of scheduled content and 1 contributor day. The cost is $40.

More details about speakers will be announced soon, as will information about the 2015 WordPress Community Summit.

WordCamp Hampton Roads will be held October 17, 2015 in Virginia Beach, VA at the Tidewater Community College Advanced Technology Center. Ticket sales are now open, and the cost is $20 per person.

WordCamp Rhode Island: Schedule and Tickets

WordCamp Rhode Island has its schedule posted and tickets are for sale.  WordCamp RI runs for two days, Friday and Saturday, September 25 and 26, 2015.  Tickets are $20 for both days including lunch. Students are free with a valid student ID.

Friday there will be three in-depth tracks running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

  1. WordPress Basics: Setup and Installation
  2. Getting to Know SASS
  3. Contributing to WordPress Core

Saturday will also have three tracks with five sessions each of 45-minutes:

  1. WordPress for Beginners
  2. WordPress for Developers
  3. WordPress for Business

WordCamp Rhode Island logo Examples of Saturday’s sessions are “Tips to Make WordPress Your Friend.” “Introduction to i18n/l10n,” and “Content is King, but You Don’t Have to be its Slave.”  Attendees are welcome to pick and choose sessions in varying tracks.

WordCamp RI will be held at New England Tech in East Greenwich, Rhode Island.
