WordPress Campus Connect – St. Edward’s S.S Bukuumi 2026 is a hands-on digital skills outreach initiative designed to introduce secondary school students of the said school in Kakumiro district, Uganda to the fundamentals of website creation using WordPress.
Organized in collaboration with volunteers from the WordPress Uganda Community, this event aims to bridge the gap between classroom ICT learning and real-world digital application. Students will be guided through the process of creating simple websites, understanding how WordPress works, and exploring how digital platforms can be used for communication, creativity, and problem-solving using WordPress
The session is structured to be beginner-friendly, engaging, and practical. Participants will learn how to:
- Set up and navigate a WordPress site
- Create and publish basic web content
- Customize simple website layouts
- Appreciate the role of websites in education, business, and personal branding
Beyond technical skills, the event seeks to inspire learners to see themselves as creators in the digital space, equipping them with foundational competencies relevant to the modern knowledge economy.
Target Audience: 110 Secondary school students (beginner level)
Format: Interactive demonstrations, guided practice, and mentorship
Outcome: Each participant shall gain introductory web development skills and exposure to digital opportunities
