About Rafael M. Ehlers
Rafael de Menezes Ehlers is a product manager, project manager, technical support lead, and developer with more than 25 years of experience in technology. He holds an undergraduate degree in Database Technology from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), with training focused on data analysis, data modeling and storage, database administration, and machine learning. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Project Management and Agile Methodologies at PUCRS and an academic master’s degree in Applied Computing at Universidade do Vale do Itajaí (UNIVALI), focusing on Applied Artificial Intelligence.
His career has taken him from software development through nearly 12 years in technical support and subsequently into product management. He spent more than a decade in the WordPress ecosystem, leading distributed support teams, resolving technical issues at the highest escalation level, writing documentation and code, testing fixes, and collaborating directly with engineering teams on product specifications and improvements.
His work combines technical expertise, direct experience working with customers, and product development, turning problems and needs identified through everyday software use into specifications, features, and product improvements. Most recently, he worked as a Product Manager in the Shopify app ecosystem, focusing on product discovery, user research, feature specifications, applying artificial intelligence to products, and software development in collaboration with engineering teams.
